Heather Leigh is a surprise waiting to happen.  Listen to the songs from her recently released Learn & Live CD, and each track awakens a sense of anticipation, and intrigue.  Sometimes rocking in the best tradition of the genre - sometimes laying back and saying "listen...I have something to tell you".  In the artist's own words, "It's a smorgasbord of themes and styles, because that's how life is".  "You will find yourself humming her songs days after hearing them", says Audio Impact Studio Producer, Engineer & Musician James Cory, who also cranks out some killer lead guitar through the whole project.  Some of the tunes you may be humming are The Look In His Eyes and Whatever You Need, pensive, personal ballads that evoke compassion. Others you may be dancing to include the kick-butt smoker, Wrecked. It's top-40 material on the broadcast band, if anybody's listening.  It's also worth noting that Jazz Pro, Phil Traynor sits in on one track titled The Me You See.  He also provided the CD cover design.  MTB is honored to offer all 10 tracks by Heather Leigh - this week's Feature Artist on Music Tampa Bay. 

 

 

Heather Leigh will be performing three times at this year’s Florida Strawberry Festival, which is impressive enough. It’s even more impressive when you realize that in 2008, she fell down a staircase and injured her right vocal cord, meaning her voice might be gone forever.

"After strict vocal rest, therapy and prayer," she said, "it did come back, and I decided never to take it for granted again!"

The proof is in her latest CD, Learn & Live, released in September. It contains 10 tracks of Lilith-ready folk, pop, rock and country, all written by Leigh, who also plays piano and keyboard on the disc.

MTB is privileged to have a chance to showcase this fresh new talent who can indeed "rock the place", but also mellow out with some of the softest, sweetest sounds this side of Kissimmee.

Heather Leigh's new release "Learn & Live" is exceptional! Heather has a unique gift of story telling that captures and mesmerizes you from the beginning to the end of this album. Her vocals and lyrics touch every part you, heart and soul. She brings forth her emotions and takes you to places very few people are able to do. Heather can make you hit the dance floor running and then slow you right down with her beautiful ballads.

Instrumentation on "Learn & Live" is outstanding! Heather on keys, this woman is multi-talented. Jasmin Martinez is on drums, Levi Rice on bass, Wade Neller on acoustic guitar, James Cory is responsible for the lead guitar. Jordan Andrews on rhythm guitar, Derek Fleming on the organ, Phil Traynor does a fantastic job on percussion. Last but definately not least is Chris Wainscott         with his beautiful vocals. This group of talented artists bring "Learn & Live" to the top of everyone's must have list!

Choosing 3 songs to showcase proved to be a difficult task for me but in the end these were my picks.

1. Wrecked - This is a song that gets you singing and dancing to right off the hop! Everyone can relate to this one! Heather shows us her kickin country gal in this track! I Love this track!

2. Swept Away - This is a beautiful track. The instrumentation along with Heather's voice truly does sweep you away. It's like being wrapped in a warm summer breeze. This track is a must have for everyone's collection.

3. Whatever You Need - This one stops you in your tracks. It captures the essence of love. You definately feel the emotion that comes from Heather when she sings this song, her vocals are amazing. Pairing this track with a piano was brilliant!

Haven't heard her yet? What's holding you back? "Learn & Live" is a must have album!!! It will be a favorite in your collection! She's definately one of mine!

I saw a rehearsal of "Through Her Eyes" earlier this week and must give it a triple thumbs up, with five gold stars. Even if it means taking a trip across one of the Bay bridges, don't miss it. This performance stands out for its simplicity, its unique perspective and its unforgettable music. It brought tears to my eyes, even though I already knew the ending.

And when you hear Wainscott sing, you will know why she got her Easter miracle a few months early.

The talented woman behind this production has a special reason to rejoice this season.

Creative and laid-back, Heather is a dream to work with!

The music on this CD is a mix of Christian, country/blues, and love songs.  They are beautifully crafted and well put together.

Heather Wainscott was amazing to work with in the studio...She had great ideas, plus was able to handle direction with ease...Heather's voice, while bluesy in nature, can go from smooth as silk to a rockin grit, and anywhere in between...God has definitely blessed her with a talent for writing and singing, and Heather is giving back with her deep and passionate lyrics...
Listen to her CD and you will find yourself humming her songs days after hearing them...Looking forward to hearing anything this artist releases, may God bless everything she does...

I have listen to just a few songs and when you put Faith, Passion and Talent together you get the angelic sounds of Heather Leigh. Congrats on the new CD!

When I think about Heather's music, the one thing that stands out is the use of lyrics. The story telling involved. It paints a clear picture of not only what she wants to convey, but the emotions attached to it. Its as if you can actually see the stitching weaving in and out of the song. Absolutely brilliant!!!

Its seldom in ones life that you can be so moved by the words of another. however in this instance the words of Heathers songs, the passion, pride and pure ease of their deliverance moved me.. there is no substitue for class, and there is none needed here. If Gods voice is female this is what he sounds like, and if he sings in the shower, Heathers songs are what he is singing, i thank God for your voice and i thank you for perfecting the blessing he gave you x

Your music makes me a prisoner steadily.  Your singing voice has power to shake my soul.  Does the god have you do so?  You are defended.

I want to say something about Heather,she is really great singer. I am living very apart from her,so we have different cultures but i am enjoying with her songs. Her new album is great i think she have great songs her own. Above all,she is working so much for success i believe she will do what she want.

Love the entire CD. Heather's music is so heartfelt and her voice is as smooth as silk. She has a wonderful way with all different styles of music. I would pick out my favorite song, but there is no way I can choose just one; I love them ALL. I recommend her CD highly!!! Can't wait for the next one to come out!!

Swept Away is my fav by heather leigh.. this song makes my heart hurt for my hubby! I love her voice!
